Award-Winning Games From GameWorld to Reach Mobile Phones World-Wide Through nGame's Global Distribution Network
4/26/02 10:31 AM
Source: PR Newswire

SANTA ANA, Calif., April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- GameWorld Technologies, the game publishing division of PureVis, and nGame Ltd., a leading wireless game platform and services provider for mobile operators, today announced a wireless game distribution agreement to provide top GameWorld titles to select carriers world-wide and exclusively via nGame's powerful global distribution network. GameWorld uses PureVis fully visual development environment and server family for rapid building and deployment of networked games and applications across any Java-enabled system, wireless device and the web. nGame is the #1 wireless entertainment aggregator in the Americas and Europe.

The GameWorld titles for world-wide distribution to carriers by nGame include Slam!, an easy to play innovative action-puzzle game with broad appeal to casual gamers. The Slam! game was winner of the 2001 Sprint PCS Java Micro Edition (J2ME) Application Development Contest, where the top wireless game publishers from around the world vied for first prize. Its clever game design and four artificial intelligent (AI) opponents create a compelling and fun experience on wireless devices. Future versions of Slam! will enable people to play directly against one another via the PureVis multi-user server system.

Based on short message service (SMS), Women Are Smarter? is a mobile trivia game with a gender twist. Players answer trivia questions with the option to make double-or-nothing wagers on which gender player most often answers the question correctly. Question difficulty level and information on which gender answers correctly more frequently are updated in real-time while people play through the SQL database back-end. Adding to the fun, GameWorld provides a web interface through which players can submit their own questions for inclusion in Women Are Smarter?, and receive credit for their contribution.

"nGame has strong relationships with wireless network operators worldwide, which complements GameWorld's proven ability to deliver a content pipeline of original fun games made for compelling play on mobile phones. We at GameWorld are very pleased to be partnering with nGame, and we look forward to providing nGame with an ongoing supply of great Mobile Java and SMS games authored by our third party developers and our highly-acclaimed in-house team," said John Greensage, CEO of PureVis. "We found it easy to integrate the PureVis open server architecture to deploy GameWorld titles on nGame's entertainment services, showing the strength of both systems for bringing great games to carrier's customers."

"nGame is delighted to be partnering with GameWorld, one of the early leaders in Mobile Java and SMS Entertainment content and technology. Slam! and Women Are Smarter? are fun and compelling additions to nGame's content portfolio, and will be rolled out in the coming months on select carriers in North America, Latin America and Europe, spanning nGame's massive direct distribution network of more than 25 Wireless operators. GameWorld's decision to partner with nGame on the distribution of these great titles, pays testament to nGame's content aggregation model as well as to our superior distribution, developer support and monetization capabilities, " said Alex Green, Senior Vice President Business Development of nGame Ltd.

To date, wireless games have been expensive to produce and require extensive customization for each carrier and platform. GameWorld overcomes these problems by enabling game developers to rapidly produce original games in the 100% visual PureVis environment without any programming. A PureVis developer only builds a game or application once, and it deploys on most any wireless carrier world-wide via the wireless platforms of GameWorld's distribution partners, without the need to rewrite or port the game software.

"Such simplification of the creation and broad deployment of games and applications is a first in the history of software development. PureVis heralds a new age of software production where regular people can implement their vision without programming expertise or an understanding of the complexities of networks," said John Greensage, CEO of PureVis.

The GameWorld entertainment package is now available. Network operators that are interested in offering the Gameworld Technologies' entertainment products, please contact GameWorld Technologies or nGame Ltd. ( www.nGame.com ) for further information.
