Award-Winning Game to Reach Mobile Phones World-Wide

ScreamingMedia, PR NEWSWIRE LOS ANGELES

= Solutions Marketplace Member

LOS ANGELES, April 5 /PRNewswire/ -- GameWorld Technologies, a division of PureVis, announced today a distribution agreement for three of its top wireless games with Mforma Corporation, a wireless application platform and services provider for mobile operators. GameWorld Technologies is the creator of the PureVis fully visual development environment and server family for rapid building and deployment of networked applications across any Java-enabled system, wireless device and the web. Amongst the GameWorld titles for worldwide distribution to carriers by Mforma is Slam! The Slam! game was winner of the 2001 Sprint PCS Java Micro Edition (J2ME) Application Development Contest, where the top wireless game publishers from around the world vied for first prize. Slam! is an easy to play innovative action-puzzle game with broad appeal to casual gamers. Its clever game design and four artificial intelligent (AI) opponents create a compelling and fun experience on wireless devices. Future versions of Slam! will enable people to play directly against one another via the PureVis multi-user server system.

An additional two cutting edge wireless games from GameWorld will be available to wireless subscribers through SMS (text messaging) and WAP (the wireless web), providing games that can be played on virtually any mobile phone. Based on SMS, Women Are Smarter? is a mobile trivia game with a gender twist. Players answer trivia questions with the option to make a double-or-nothing wager on which gender player most often answers the question correctly. Real-time SQL database access allows instant updating of question difficulty and gender responses for up-to-date information on the game. Adding to the fun, GameWorld provides a web interface through which players can submit their own questions for inclusion in Women Are Smarter?.

GW Bowling is an innovative WAP action sports game featuring a real-time animated power-bar interface where players aim and bowl the ball, then watch which pins fall. Until now, this type of animation and arcade-style user interface controls have been limited to JAVA-enabled handsets. GW Bowling functions on legacy WAP phones, even those lacking graphical displays, due to GameWorld's powerful PureVis technology.

"Such simplification of the creation and broad deployment of games and applications is a first in the history of software development. PureVis heralds a new age of software production where regular people can implement their vision without programming expertise or an understanding of the complexities of networks," said John Greensage, CEO of PureVis. "Mforma's technology, strong relationships with wireless network operators, and the GameWorld team's deep knowledge of the mobile marketplace were key elements in forging our relationship."

"Mforma is pleased to partner with GameWorld," said Christophe Watkins, VP of Media, Mforma. "The company's award-winning application catalog and solid industry expertise is a coup in delivering an entertainment package to the mobile operator that will drive usage and generate wireless data revenues."

The GameWorld entertainment package is now available. Network operators that are interested in offering the GameWorld Technologies' entertainment products, please contact GameWorld Technologies or Mforma Corporation ( http://servlet.java.sun.com/logRedirect/industry-news/http://www.mforma.com ) for further information.
